Debraj Mishra's Bail Plea Rejected, sent to Jail for 14 Days

Bolangir, Nov 08: In a setback to former Bolangir district collector Debraj Mishra, he was sent to jail for 14 days after the ADJ court on Saturday rejected his bail plea.

Mishra was produced before the Balangir ADJ court amidst security as the special vigilance court was off today.

The IAS officer was arrested on Friday from his residence in Bhubaneswar by the state vigilance on the charges of involvement in irregularities of recruitment of Revenue Inspectors (RIs), Assistant Revenue Inspectors (ARIs) and Amins.

Mishra was suspended in September this year for allegedly doing irregularities in the appointment of the revenue department posts during his tenure as collector of Bolangir from August 2012 to July 2013.

However, he denied the charges while being taken to the custody.
