Odisha demands Rs 777 cr Central Aid for Hudhud-hit Districts

Bhubaneswar, Nov 12: Odisha government on Wednesday demanded Rs 777.12 crore as financial assistance from the Centre for the restoration and rehabilitation work in 22 districts affected by the severe cyclonic storm Hudhud last month.

Addressing a press meet today, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradipta Mohapatra said that the state government in a memorandum submitted to the Union Home Ministry has stated that 22 districts in Odisha were affected due to cyclone Hudhud.

In the memorandum, the government has also informed the Centre about the total loss caused by Hudhud. The government put the loss at Rs 4949.39 crore.
