Kunal Ghosh Out of Danger, Jail Staff Suspended


Kolkata, Nov 14: Rajya Sabha MP Kunal Ghosh, who tried to commit sucide by consuming an overdose of sleeping pills inside the jail, is now out of danger. Meanwhile, the West Bengal government has suspended the jail superintendent, doctor and a staff on duty.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee suspended
superintendent of Presidency Presidency Jail, doctor and a staff on duty after Ghosh, who has been suspended from TMC for his alleged connection with Saradha Scam, attempted suicide early in the morning in the prison.

Ghosh had earlier threatened to end his life if the probing agency CBI failed to take action against those involved in the scam. He was admitted to the state-run SSKM hospital here after he allegedly fell ill. He claimed to have taken 58 sleeping pills in a suicide letter.
