Clashes outside Ashram of Rampal in Haryana, Police Attacked

Hisar, Nov 18: Tension intensified at the Satlok Ashram of Rampal, self proclaimed Godman, after the supporters opened fire on police in Barwala town of Haryana on Tuesday.

The supporters of Rampal, who has been avoiding arrest in a contempt of court case, pelted stones at police personnel tried to approach the ashram premises.

According to media reports, a number of people have been injured in the clash after police resorted to lathicharge and fired teargas shells to control the situation. Even media personnel of some news channels have also been attacked in the incident.

Meanwhile, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has called an emergency meeting in wake of the tension between mob and police.

Self proclaimed godman Rampal is surrounded by his own army at his ashram here where his supporters gathered to oppose the arrest of their Guru. Some reports claimed that hundreds of people have been detained by his private army at the ashram premises.
