Central Team visits Hudhud-Hit Areas in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Nov 18: An eight-member Central team led by Joint Secretary of the Home Ministry Gopal Krishna Dwivedi on Tuesday visited the Hudhud-hit areas of Odisha to assess the damages caused by the cyclone.

The team is divided by two groups. While team A visited the affected areas in Koraput and Malkangiri districts, another team assessed the damages in Gajapati and Raygada districts.

The team will review the relief and rehabilitation work after assessing the damages. They are likely to discuss with the district collectors of the affected districts and other administrative officials regarding the losses caused by the severe cyclone Hudhud that battered the southern parts of the state on October 12.

The team will also meet chief minister Naveen Patnaik following the assessment after two-day visit to the cyclone affected areas.
