Bhubaneswar, Nov 22: As expected before, Odisha government has sent its formal recommendation to Centre for the establishment of IIM in the state capital.
Officials sources said that the government has chosen two places on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar - adjoining the areas of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Gothpatna and location near the new campus of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Arugul - for the proposed premier institute. The Ministry of Human Resource and Development (HRD) will take a final call.
The proposal has been sent to the Centre and it has also been shared with the IIM Kolkata, which is mentor of the proposed national level B-School in Odisha.
The location would be finalised after a site selection committee from the Centre will arrive in Odisha to pick one of these options for the institute.
The proposed institute is likely to have its temporary campus in Bhubaneswar very soon.
