Tenure of Patra Commission Extended by 6 Months

Cuttack, Nov 22: The tenure of Justice RK Patra Commission appointed by the Odisha government to probe into the chit fund fraudulent activities in the state was extended by 6 months.

Around 5 lakh 31 thousand affidavits have been scrutinized so far by the Commission till the date.

Although, the state government has promised to return the money to the chit fund victims by announcing a corpus fund of Rs 300 crore in the present budget, the Commission will identify the real depositors.
