Remand of Prashant Das Extended for One Day

Bhubaneswar, Nov 22: The CBI that is probing into the chit fund scam in Odisha was granted an one-day extension of the remand of Prashant Das, CMD of Seashore Group of companies, to grill him to unearth many more things in the scam.

Prashant was produced in the special CBI court here this evening as his 13-day remand period ended today. However, the CBI appealed to the court for one-day extension of the remand.

The central probe agency have found vital evidence and information from the Seashore CMD during his interrogation in the custody over last 13 days.

The CBI pleaded for extension after Saroj Sahu, a close aide of chief minister Naveen Patnaik, was grilled today in connection with the Seashore chit fund scam.

The speedy investigation is being carried out to expose all the accused involved in the mega ponzi scam in Odisha.
