Ruling BJD stalls House over Polavaram issue

Bhubaneswar, Nov 24: The ruling BJD stalled the House soon after the session began on Monday over polavaram project in its counter attack on opposition parties, which were planning to corner the government over the issue of chit fund scam.

The BJD members created ruckus in the House protesting against the Central government for neglecting the interest of Odisha on the Polavaram issue, forcing the Speaker Niranjan Pujari to adjourn the House till 3 pm.

The members entered the House waving banners and raising slogans against the Centre on the issue. The opposition alleged the ruling party of raising the polavaram issue to avoid the debate on chit fund scam.
