PMO appoints Ajit Doval to resolve India-China Border issue

New Delhi, Nov 24: National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval has been appointed as the special representative by the Prime Ministers Office (PMO) to resolve the India-China border issue.

"Ajit Doval, NSA, appointed as the special representative of India to conduct boundary negotiations and strategic consultations with China," the PMO said in the statement.

"This arrangement will be part of NSA overall assignment," the statement added.

Doval has a clean track record and wide experience in solving several issues including Myanmar and China related missions.

His appointment came at the time when both the countries witnessed tension at the border and LaC.

Recently, the Chinese troops were seen crossing the border in Chumar. They have made several attempts tp enter into Indian territory, however failed.

During the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to India in September, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had raised the border issue with him. The discussion was proved to be fruitful as the Chinese troops left the area they had entered after Jinping intervened the matter.
