Logjam continues in Odisha Assembly for Seventh Day

Bhubaneswar, Nov 27: The proceedings of the House was disrupted and logjam continued for seventh consecutive day during the beginning of question hour on Thursday following which Speaker Niranjan Pujari adjourned the House till 3 pm.

As soon as the House met today, opposition Congress members stalled the House wearing black badges and holding banners demanding a discussion on chit fund scam.

The BJP members also were seen raising slogans against the ruling BJD. They were holding placards and stood at their places.

On the other hand, opposing the demonstration the ruling BJD members rushed to the well and raised slogans.

While Congress alleged the Speaker of doing partiality in the House and not allowing a debate on the chit fund scam, the BJD in its counter attack held the opposition responsible for the ruckus in the House.

Senior Congress leader Tara Prasad Bahinipati said that the BJD did not want a discussion on chit fund scam in the state which is why the ruling party members created pandemonium in the House.

However, BJD chief whip Ananta Das alleged that the opposition members did not want to discuss about the Ghangapatna land scam. The way the opposition members are demonstrating is not a proper environment for discussion.
