Uproar continues in House, Speaker calls All-Party Meet

Bhubaneswar, Nov 29: Opposition parties continued to paralyse the House this afternoon demanding a discussion on the chit fund scam forcing the Speaker to convene all party meet.

When the House re-assembled at 3 pm, opposition members both Congress and BJP rushed to the well forcing Speaker NIranjan Pujari to adjourn the House twice and called for an all party meeting to resolve the crisis.

Earlier in the day, the members of Congress and BJP separately met Governor SC Jamir seeking his intervention to uphold the constitutional spirit. They marched to Raj Bhavan after the House was adjourned during the question hour due to ruckus. They demanded resignation of Advocate General, who suggested the ruling BJD not to allow any discussion on chit fund scam on the floor as the matter is sub judice.

Rejecting opposition demand for a discussion on chit fund scam, Pujari had yesterday said that there will be no discussion on the chit fund issue as per the advice of the Advocate General.
