Bhubaneswar, Nov 29: In yet another case of negligence in schools in Odisha, as many as 50 students of a state-run school in Puri were admitted to the Capital Hospital here this afternoon after taking mid-day meals at the school on Friday.
The students of Jaguleipadar Nodal Upper Primary school under Kanas block in Puri district were brought to the city by heir parents after their condition deteriorated.
They complained of vomiting and even some fainted after taking meals that consisted of rice and soyabean curry served in the school on Friday.
Meanwhile, Ramaranjan Baliarsingh, former BJD MLA from Satyabadi, met the ill students here in the hospital and demanded proper inquiry into the matter and action against those found guilty.
Joint secretary of State Education department Gangadhar Sahu said, "Food sample have been collected for test. After test report, if wrong doings found, exemplary action will be taken against the responsible".
