Martyr CRPF Jawan Padmalochan Majhi cremated

Bargarh, Dec 03: CRPF jawan Padmalochan Majhi, who was killed in a Maoist attack in Chintagufa forest of Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on Monday, was cremated at his village in with full state of honour today.

The body of Majhi arrived here last night from Raipur. He was given a guard of honour at the Reserve Police Line this morning. Later, his body was brought to his native village Bardol on the outskirts of Bargarh town where he was cremated this morning

Odia boy Majhi, from Bargarh district, was among the victims, had joined the CRPF in 2002 and was posted as Havaldar of the 223 (A) company of the para-military force.

He is survived by his mother, three sisters and a younger brother Gajendra, who is now working as a home guard in Bargarh.

The entire family burst into tears after he along with other CRPF jawans was attacked by Maoists in a dense forest while returning to base camp. 14 personnel were killed and over 10 were seriously injured in the ambush.
