Bhubaneswar, Dec 03: The district and sessions judge court on Wednesday deferred hearing on the bail plea of former Keonjhar BJD MLA Subarna Nayak till December 8. He is currently lodged in judicial custody in connection with the chit fund scam.
The hearing was deferred after the CBI sought time to produce documents related to the case in the court. Nayak, one of the directors of Nabadiganta Capital Services, a chit fund firm that has duped the depositors in the state.
He along with Mayurbhanj BJD MP Rama Chandra Hansda and former Khariar BJP MLA Hitesh Bagarti, was arrested by the CBI on November 4 for his alleged links with the chit fund company Nabadiganta Capital Services.
Meanwhile, the court also derferred the hearing on bail plea of AT group accountant Shreekrushna Padhi to December 9.
On the other hand, Subhransu Lenka , Odisha head of Surat-based chit fund firm Astha International Limited, was sent to judicial custody by the CBI Special Court till January 5.
