Mumbai, Dec 04: Indian Cricket aces Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh, the five stars of India who had brought World Cup 2011, were shown the door after a selection committee held a meeting on Thursday to announce 30 Indian probables for the upcoming World Cup 2015.
A five-member selection committee of BCCI headed by Sandeep Patil decided to leave 11 players from the squad for their poor form when the new team will be prepared for the trophy. While Sachin Tendulkar has retired, pacer S Sreesanth has been banned for spot-fixing.
Apart from the famed five 2011 World Cup winners, pacers Ashish Nehra and Munaf Patel, spinner Piyush Chawla and allrounder Yusuf Pathan were also among the players left out of the list announced by BCCI Secretary Sanjay Patel after a meeting.
Meanwhile, Axar Patel found a place for his consistent performance in the ODI series against Sri Lanka along with Wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson in the 30-man list. The final list is likely to be announced by January 4.
