7 Army Men, 2 Security Forces killed in Attack near LoC

Srinagar, Dec 05: At least 7 army men and two police personnel were killed in a major attack at an army camp near Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. Five terrorists have been killed in the gun battle.

Inspector General of Police (Kashmir) AG Mir, while confirming the death of militants and policemen, said the Army casualties were being verified. Sources said the number of casualties may go up.

According to news agency ANI reports, six militants launched a massive attack at a camp of  31 Field Regiment in Mohara in Uri sector of Baramullah district.

The entire area has been cordoned off as the firing was still on and the Army has launched an operation to kill the remaining militants.

The terrorists stormed into the camp by opening fire at around 3.10 am that further led to the gunfight. Two policemen were killed when they rushed to the camp after the attack began. A police official of ASI rank is also reported to have been injured in the attack.
