Bhubaneswar, Dec 05: The duped chit fund depositors have decided to stage agitation before the Parliament in the National capital for three days from December 16, demanding early return of their money.
The protest would be carried out under the aegis of the Aarthika Sansthamananka Dwara Kshtigrastanka Milita Mancha (ASKMM), which has been working for past two years by raising voice for the investors who were cheated by the chit fund firms in Odisha. Around 5000 duped investors would join the rally to press for money back and enactment of strong laws to safeguard the deposits of people in various organisations.
The ASKMM has been organising rallies and demonstrations in front of Odisha Assembly and submitted memorandums to put pressure on the government to hear the demand of the chit fund victims.
Under the pressure, the state government has recently allocated Rs 300 crore corpus fund in the supplementary budget passed by the Assembly.
