All Six Terrorists Gunned Down, Two More Attacks Reported in Kashmir


Srinagar, Dec 05: All the six terrorists were gunned down in the gun battle between the militants and Indian army in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. The army confirmed that the operation at the army camp is now over and all the militants were killed.

A total of 16 died died at Army camp in Uri, seven were soldiers including a Lt Colonel and a junior commissioned officer, three police personnel, and rest six were terrorists, who stormed into the army camp in the poll-bound state.

The Militants attacked the Field Ordnance Camp located at Mohra near the border town of Uri at around 3.10 am on Friday.

Meanwhile, two more attacks were reported in the Kashmir valley today. In Soura, two militants are believed to be holed up inside a house. The guerrillas attacked a police checkpost triggering a gunfight in the area, about 10 km from city centre Lal Chowk.

Police said that the gun battle is still on and the area has been cordoned off. A team of SPG has meanwhile taken over the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is due to address a rally on December 8.

Another attack was reported from the valley. Reports said that the militants hurled a grenade at the Shopian police station in south Kashmir. However, no casualty was reported yet. Police launched a combing operation in the area.
