Black Friday in J&K: 11 Security Forces dead in Four Terrorist Attacks

Srinagar, Dec 05: Four terror attacks were reported in less than 12 hours in the poll-bound state Jammu and Kashmir today. In the latest update, 11 security forces, one civilian and six militants were killed in the attacks in Uri, Soura, Sophian and Tral.

The security personnel have recovered 55 magazine, 32 grenades, 6 AK-47 assault rifles and 2 shotguns from the dead militants.

The terrorists stormed into the Kashmir valley targeting different parts of the poll-bound state early in the morning. In the first encounter that lasted for nearly 12 hours, Indian army successfully killed all six terrorists who tried to enter an Army camp in the Uri sector. However, seven Army men and three policemen died in the gun battle.

In another encounter in Soura area of Srinagar, just 10 kilometres away from the prominent Lal Chowk, one terrorist was killed by the security forces. He was identified as an LeT commander.

In the third attack, a grenade was hurled inside the Shopian police station. However, no casualty was reported so far in the incident.

The fourth attack took place in the state when a grenade was thrown near a bus stand in Tral in Pulwama targeting the civilians. One civilian died while nine others were injured in the attack.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh slammed Pakistan for the serial terror strikes in the Kashmir valley. He accused the neighbouring country of harbouring terrorists.
