Burdwan blast: NIA arrests key Accused from Assam

Nalbari (Assam), Dec 06: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested one of the key accused in Burdwan blast Sahanur Alom from Nalbari district of Assam .

According to reports, Additional Director General of Police (DGP) Pallab Bhattacharya had last night confirmed that Alom was picked up from Larkuchi village under Mukalmua in Nalbari district in a secret operation.

Reports also say that the NIA had announced a reward of Rs. 5 lakh for providing information about Alom's whereabouts following the Burdwan blast.

Earlier in October this year, a blast in the Burdwan region of West Bengal had killed two people and injured one person. The investigating agencies suspect Bangladeshi militant organisation Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen to be behind the blast.
