Chit Fund Scam: CBI Raid at Residence of Microfinance MD

Bhubaneswar, Dec 08: In an ongoing probe into the chit fund scam in Odisha, the CBI on Monday raided the residence of Durga Prasad Mishra, the MD of Microfinance Limited, in Patia.

The CBI sleuths searched at House No 11 in Aryabhumi Apartments in Patia at around 2 pm and continued till 3.30 pm. They seized few documents. However, Mishra was not present at his residence at the time of raid.

Earlier, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the crime branch had conducted raid at the offices of the company during its probe into chit fund scam. The firm has collected deposits from nearly 5 lakh investors under several schemes.
