Delhi Cab Rape Case: Accused sent to Police Custody till Dec 11

New Delhi, Dec 08: The cab driver, accused of raping a working woman in Delhi, was sent to police custody for three days by a Delhi Court on Monday. The Metropolitan Magistrate Ambika Singh sent Shiv Kumar Yadav, 32, in police custody till December 11.

Police appealed that the accused will be interrogated about the mobile phone used by him. Yadav, who is an employee of car service company Uber, refused to undergo the test identification Parade (TIP), a process under the criminal law through which a victim identifies an accused.

Yadav was arrested from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday by a joint team of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh Police. He was produced before the court amid tight security.

Meanwhile, the Delhi government has banned all the operations of the Uber Technologies Inc, the US-based company, in New Delhi following the rape incident.
