Odia Film Actress Mamina passes away

Cuttack, Dec 09: Odia film industry lost another comic actor a month and half after Runu and few days after veteran Biren Routray passed away. Mamina left the mortal body following a major heart attack on Monday evening.

Actress Mamina passed away while being taken to the hospital following severe chest pain she complained in the evening at her residence in Cuttack. She was 48.

Jyotsna Satpathy popularly known as Mamina in the film industry, could be remembered for her comic roles opposite Jayram Samal (Jayee). She has acted in more than 70 films and left her mark as an actress in comic roles as well as the negative characters like Runu.

The versatile actress had gained much applause in the film "Gouri" and "Chha Mana Atha Guntha" for her comic and negative roles respectively. She also left her mark in the small screen. Her negative role in the television soap "Tulasi" was outstanding.

A large number of film personalities rushed to her residence to pay tributes to the departed soul yesterday night. Her demise created a voidness in the industry.
