Delhi Rape Case: FIR against Uber Cab Services for Cheating

New Delhi, Dec 09: The Delhi police on Tuesday lodged an FIR against the US-based taxi-booking service company Uber for cheating customers on the pretext of providing safe commuting in the national capital and NCR.

The officials of the web-based cab booking services firm are being questioned about the taxi services in Delhi, after the cab driver Shiv Kumar Yadav was arrested for allegedly raping a working woman in the national capital on Friday night.

Yesterday, the Delhi government had banned all the operations of Uber in the city even though the company assured to give full cooperation to help the victim and her family in their recovery.

However, the pressure mounted on the company to shut down its operations after the accused cab driver was found during the interrogation that he was a repeat offender, had been convicted for a similar crime and jailed in 2011.
