Ranchi/Srinagar, Dec 09: The polling is underway for the third phase of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand on Tuesday.

According to an Election Commission official, around 30 percent polling has taken place in Jharkhand till 11 am. Ignoring boycott call, the Kashmiri people were seen in long queues to franchise their votes in the polling stations in the Kashmir valley today.

The polling began on Tuesday in Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir in the third leg of the five-phase Assembly elections amid tight security. The voter turnout in urban areas has been good so far in both the states. Cricketer MS Dhoni's wife Sakshi cast her vote in Ranchi.
