Bhubaneswar, Dec 09: Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) deputy director Ashok Choudhury was grilled by the CBI for second time on Tuesday in connection with the chit fund scam.
Choudhury appeared before the CBI today and he was interrogated for nearly two hours.
Yesterday, he was grilled by the investigating agency. He was questioned about the MoU signed between the OREDA and Seashore group of companies for a solar power project in Bolangir district.
However, he denied to reveal the exact questions he was asked at the CBI office yesterday.
It can be noted that Seashore had signed a MoU with OREDA for setting up a solar power plant at Titilagarh in Bolangir district and had deposited an amount of Rs 2.53 crore as earnest money in 2012. However, the project never started.
The Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch during its probe into chit fund scam in July had asked OREDA to cancel the MoU with Seashore and attach the earnest money to pay the depositors duped by the chit fund firm.
