JB Patnaik given Warm Welcome, Supporters celebrate

Bhubaneswar, Dec 12: Former Odisha chief minister Janaki Ballav Patnaik was given a warm welcome by thousands of his supporters when he arrived here yesterday afternoon after his tenure as Assam Governor ended.

The veteran Congress leader was greeted at the airport by his partymen who were waiting holding flowers, garlands, bouquets, placards and rural band parties playing music. The moment Patnaik appeared at the arrival gate accompanied by his wife Jayanti Patnaik, the crowd welcomed him with joy.

Being overwhelmed by the grand reception at the airport, Patnaik told the reporters in his first public utterance, "I am in politics and would continue to remain in politics". This boosted the partymen, who want him to revive the party in Odisha.

When asked whether he would return to the active politics, he said, "I have just come back home after five years. I have not yet decided on my future course of action".
