DSP Pramod Panda Arrested in Chit Fund Scam

Bhubaneswar, Dec 19: Crime Branch Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Pramod Panda was arrested by the CBI following an interrogation on Friday in connection with his alleged links with the AT Group, a key player in the chit fund scam in Odisha.

Panda appeared before the CBI today for the interrogation for third time in three days. He was grilled face to face with Alok Jena, the petitioner of the ponzi case in Supreme Court.

Panda reached the CBI office at around 3.30 pm. After 30 minutes, Alok Jena went in the office. Panda was questioned face to face with Jena, who has filed two FIRs against him accusing him of threatening him if he did not withdraw his PIL in the apex court.

It can be noted that Orissa High Court on Dec 15 has rejected the bail plea of Panda, who had moved the court to apprehend his arrest for his alleged links with the AT group and Jagabandhu Panda, against whom the CBI has filed a chargesheet.
