Polling ends in Jharkhand with 70% Voter Turnout in Fifth Phase

Ranchi, Dec 20: The voting ended in Jharkhand with 70% voter turnout in the final phase of the assembly polls. It started 7 am amid tight security and was over at 3 pm in all the 16 constituencies in the state.

The voting took place at 3,773 polling booths out of which 833 booths were very sensitive, while another 1,496 were declared as sensitive in Jharkhand. 

The fate of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), along with Speaker Shashank Shekhar Bhokta, Minister Lobin Hembrom, Sita Soren, who is the daughter-in-law of Shibu Soren and sister-in-law of the state chief minister, Bharatiya Janata Party national secretary Louise Marandi, and former minister Simon Marandi were decided today.
