Berhampur, Dec 23: At least 18 children engaged in different institutions as labourers were rescued at Bhanjanagar in Ganjam district.
The child labourers were rescued during raids yesterday from shops, hotels, garages, and firm. They were engaged in doing hard jobs in hotels and firm.
Child Protection Officer SK Sarangi said that the rescued children will be rehabilitated. Strong action will be taken against the people who are engaging the minors in hard jobs.
The notices will be sent to the proprietors of the establishments from where the children were rescued for violating the law, said Assistant Labour Officer, Bhanjanagar.
