Chit Fund Scam: CBI Court denies Bail to Durga Mishra

Bhubaneswar, Dec 23: The special CBI Court on Tuesday denied giving bail to former Microfinance MD Durga Prasad Mishra in connection with the chit fund scam. He was sent to judicial custody till January 8.

Mishra will be lodged in the Jharapada jail here from Today.

Mishra was produced before the court as his additional three-day remand ended today. His counsel prayed for the bail on health grounds stating, Mishra had undergone a bypass surgery in July this year and he requires a routine health check up.

However, the CBI counsel appealed to the court not to grant bail to Mishra as the probe is still going on and the accused is going through a regular health check up.
