Chit Fund Accused puts Commissionerate Police in Dock

Bhubaneswar, Dec 24: In yet another revelation into ongoing probe into chit fund scam in Odisha, accused Jagabandhu Panda, former director of AT Group arrested in this connection put the Commissionerate police in the dock, saying the investigating officer was taking orders from AT Group chief Pradeep Sethy.

The investigating officer who was probing the chit fund case before the CBI probe, was allegedly showing softness and taking orders from the AT group chief Pradeep Sethy and he should be interrogated by the central agency, Panda revealed while coming out of the Capital Hospital following the medical check-ups today.

"As long as the commissionerate police was investigating the AT Group chit fund scam, most of the directors of the company got favours from the investigating officer." Panda said.

Talking to media, he alleged the then Kharavel Nagar IIC, who was investigating the case before the CBI probe, of not seizing the properties of 25 directors. He said that the IO should be grilled by the CBI and the properties of the directors should be seized which would help the government to refund the money to the depositors.

He further alleged that the IO was probing the case on the direction of Pradeep Sethy.

The CBI will decide the next course of action in the probe following the allegation leveled against the Commissionerate police.
