Odisha Govt to fix Modalities for Implementation of Task Force Report Soon

Bhubaneswar, Dec 31: Odisha government will come up soon with the modalities for implementation of the Task Force report on the allotment of land and houses in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack under the discretionary quota (DQ).

Yesterday, a high level meeting presided over by chief secretary GC Pati over this matter was held here in Odisha Capital. The meeting was attended by secretary, Law, Mihir Ranjan Parida and Advocate General (AG), Surya Mishra to decide the modalities for the implementation of the Task Force report that recommended the cancellation of land and houses allotted under the discretionary quota.

The Odisha Cabinet on Dec 18 also gave a nod to the recommendations of the Task Force panel headed by additional chief secretary, Revenue, Dr Tara Dutt. As per the decision, all the houses, flats, plots and land allotted under DQ since January 1, 1995, by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) and the Odisha State Housing Board (OSHB) will be cancelled.

The government has also decided to conduct a vigilance inquiry into the allotment of multiple pots or flats made under DQ.
