Mobile App to be launched in Twin City to contact Police

Bhubaneswar, Jan 05: A mobile application would soon to be launched for the people in the twin city of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack to help them contact the police directly. This is the part of the efforts of the Commissionerate Police to be people friendly in the state.

The app would be launched by chief minister Naveen Patnaik on the occasion of 8th foundation day of the Commissionerate Police at the 7th Infantry Battalion premises here on January 15.

Giving information about the app, Police Commissioner RP Sharma said that the app would carry all the relevant data about the Commissionerate Police. This would provide the details of all the police stations in the twin city including their landline numbers, the mobile numbers of all the concerned officers and the services provided by the police.

People of the twin city can download the app on their smartphones and contact the police instantly and directly, Sharma said.

Apart from the mobile app, a traffic education park near the traffic police station in Bhubaneswar and a traffic education hall in Cuttack would be inaugurated on the foundation day of the Commissionerate Police. The commuters violating the traffic rules would be trained at the traffic education park.

The Commissionerate Police would also organise the road-on camps and blood donation camps in the twin city on its foundation day, he said.
