Odisha Cabinet approves Mining Blocks Auction

Bhubaneswar, Jan 05: Odisha Cabinet on Monday approved the proposal for allowing the auction of all the captive and noncaptive mining blocks except coal blocks in the state.

The cabinet meeting presided over by the chief minister Naveen Patnaik decided to auction the captive and noncaptive mining blocks separately.

With this decision to give a nod for the fresh auction for the mining blocks, this will generate the revenue of more than Rs 10,000 crore per year for the state.

The cabinet that met today at the State Secretariat at 5.30 PM was about to discuss several proposals including mining issues, the formation of Legislative Council in the state and the task force report implementation.
