Amit Shah visits Puri Jagannath Temple


Puri, Jan 07: BJP national president Amit Shah visited Jagannath tempe in Puri here this morning. He had the darshan of three Lords and came out of the temple after one hour.

Shah was accompanied by his wife Sonal Shah, BJP Odisha Pravari Arun Singh, state party president KV Singhdeo, Union minister of state for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan and senior party leader Suresh Pujari.

Shah had moved Puri yesterday after addressing the Maha Sangram rally in Bhubaneswar. He met Gobardhan Peeth Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati, who asked him to take necessary steps to ensure that the famouse dham should not be neglected. He also discussed on the smooth conduct of the upcoming mega Nabakalebara festival scheduled in July this year.

During his meeting with Shankaracharya, the veteran had asked the BJP chief to take steps to keep the mutts and temples free from the anti-social people.

During his two-day visit to Odisha, Shah will attend the party's membership drive at Dhauli on the outskirts of the state capital today. Later, in the afternoon he will attend a party meeting following by a press conference.
