The incident sparked protests by several parents here today against the molestation of the school girl. The protesters demanded the school authorities to hand over the accused to them for the punishment.

After the agitation intensified, police were forced to resort to mild lathicharge to disperse the crowd from the school.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner MN Reddi also confirmed that a seven-year-old school girl was sexually assaulted in her school and the accused teacher has been taken into custody.

He appealed to the public to remain calm and warned that the police would not allow them to take law into their own hands.
