Modi Inaugurates Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar, Jan 08: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 13th edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas at swank Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. The event gives a platform to bring together the members of the Indian Diaspora to engage and discuss investment in India.

Around four thousand NRIs from 58 countries will attend the annual festival. Maite Nikoana-Mashabane, the foriegn minister of South Africa, is the chief guest at the event.

Doland Ramotar, President of Guyana was presented the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman, the highest honour conferred on overseas Indians and people of Indian origin living in other countries.

On Friday, several chief ministers will attend the event and invite the NRI delegates for the investment in their states.    
 
Gujarat is hosting the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Gandhinagar for the first time. The state will also host the Vibrant Gujarat Summit from Sunday at the same venue. The PM Modi will also inaugurate the mega business event.
