Injured Female Cop in Paris Shooting dies

Paris, Jan 08: A female police officer injured in the firing in southern Paris this morning, less than 24 hours after the terror attack on the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, has succumbed to her injuries.

Two gunmen had injured two police officers, including a woman, near Porte de Chatillon, south of Paris. While one of the two assailants was arrested, the other fled, reported The Independent.

A car, believed to belong to the gunman, has been found by the police nearly two-and-a-half miles from the scene.

The militants launched a series of attacks today at several places to terrorise the government as well as the civilians. Another explosion was reported at a kebab shop near a mosque at Villefranche-sur-Saone in eastern France however; no causalities were reported.

The attacks come amid high tensions in France when people united in grief to condole the death of the people who were victims of the terror strike on weekly news magazine Charlie Hebdo office. The militants killed 12 including journalists, the editor and a cartoonist for tweeting a cartoon of Islamic States leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and publishing the cartoon of Prophet Mohammed.
