New Delhi, Jan 09: Congress leader and MP from Kerala, Shashi Tharoor's domestic help revealed many things during interrogation that can throw some light into the mysterious death of Sunanda Pushkar.
Tharoor's domestic help Narayan Singh was questioned by the Special Investigating Team (SIT) of Delhi Police at an undisclosed location in South Delhi yesterday. He revealed that Sunanda was upset with her husband Tharoor before her death.
During the interrogation, he said that the couple were not comfortable with each other. Sunanda was upset with Tahroor's behaviour and conduct and many time fought on personal and financial matters.
In the probe, another name Sunil, a family friend, has surfaced. According to details told by Narayan, Sunil was the person who had picked Sunanda from the airport and taken her to the hotel. Police is yet to question Sunil.
Meanwhile, Shashi Tharoor is in Kerala. He is undergoing treatment at an Aurvedic clinic. He is likely to be discharged today.
Sunanda was found dead under mysterious circumstances on January 17 last year in a Delhi hotel. According to medical report by AIIMS, she died of piosoning. The poison might have administered either through oral route or injection and 15 injuries were found on her body.
All the injuries mentioned are caused by blunt force, simple in nature that cannot lead to death, except an injury of injection mark.
The final autopsy report submitted to police on Dec 29 concluded that the death was not natural and the poisoning was through oral route. However, the poison through injection also cannot be ruled out.
Delhi Police on Tuesday registered a murder case under section 302 of IPC on the basis of an AIIMS medical report that concluded that her death was unnatural and due to poisoning.
The SIT was formed by the police to probe the case. Tharoor is likely to be questioned in this matter.
