Odisha Matric Exam to start on Feb 23

Cuttack, Jan 09: The annual High School Certificate Examinations (HSC) 2015 will start from Feb 23 for the regular candidates. The exam will end on March 09. For ex-regular, the exam will begin on Feb 24 and end on March 10.

According to a notification issued by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) that will conduct the exam, a total of 5, 92,281 candidates will appear in the examination, which will be held at 2,799 centres across the state. Of the total students appearing in the examination this year, 9,620 students are ex-regular and 4,417 are Madhyama.

The evaluation of answer sheets will begin from March 16, the notification said.

Talking to media, BSE President Dakshya Prasad Nanda said that 2799 centres were selected for the exam on the basis of recommendation by the district level committee comprising the district collector, SP and District Education Officer.

On the safety and secured conduct of exam, he said that the Board has opened 302 nodal centres where the question papers will be kept amid tight security. Of the 302 nodal centres, 22 have been set up in police stations and one centre has been at the tehsil office.

The exam will start at 9 AM. The candidates will enter into the exam hall at 8.30 am and the question papers will be provided to them at 8.45 am. The students will get time for 15 minutes to go through the objective type questions after which the exam will begin at sharp 9 am.

The duration of the objective type test will be one hour after which the candidates will be provided the subjective question papers to give the answers in 1/30 hrs.
