Tharoor expects Free and Fair Probe into Sunanda Pushkar's Death

Thiruananthapuram, Jan 09: While more revelations and facts are coming to fore into the death of Sunanda Pushkar, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Friday expected that the investigation must be free of political pressure.

The MP from Kerala, who is at an Ayurvedic resort in Kerala where he completed treatment, described himself as a bereaved husband and said his silence on the matter should not be considered as sinister.

"I have been taken aback, there is no foul play in Sunanda Pushkar's death", he said the reporters.

He said that he does not want to make public statements which would undermine or compromise the police inquiry.

It should be noted that Tharoor can be questioned during the probe after the revelation by his domestic help, who said during the interrogation that the couple were not comfortable with each other and Sunanda was upset with her husband Tharoor before her death.
