Sakshi Maharaj denies Reports of Show Cause Notice to Him

New Delhi, Jan 13: BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj on Tuesday denied the media reports that his party had served him a show cause notice over his controversial remarks.

The MP from Unnao in Uttar Pradesh said that he received no show cause notice from the party.

On Monday, Media reports said that the BJP had slapped a show cause notice on Sakshi Maharaj asking him to explain why action should not be taken against him for his controversial remarks.

He was given 10 days to explain why he made controversial statements that went against the party despite PM Narendra Modi had warned the BJP members to give no controversial statements publicly for which the image of the party would be down.

Last week in Meerut, Sakshi had drawn the media attention when he said that the Hindu women should produce at least four children to protect the religion. This had sparked criticism and the opposition parties alleged that the BJP was trying to spread communalism in the country.

Earlier, he was in controversy for describing Nathuram Godse, the assailant of Mahatma Gandhi, as a "Nationalist".
