Sonitpur killings: NIA arrests Three Bodo Militants in Assam

Guwahati, Jan 15: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested three suspected Bodo militants in connection with Assam's Sonitpur killings in December. The three were arrested from Kohima on January 14-15 midnight.

The suspects were identified as Ajoi Basamutary, Dilip Basumatary alias Bir Baisa, and Khamrei Basumatary alias Udla. They have been taken on a transit remand to Guwahati where they will be produced before a special NIA court.

Among three, Ajoi Basamutary alias B Buhum is the prime suspect in the massacre. He is the chief of the terror outfit National Democratic Front of Bodoland-S that was responsible for killing 36 innocent tribal people on December 23 night in Sonitpur district of Assam.
