TMC moves SC challenging CBI in Saradha Chit Fund Scam

New Delhi, Jan 19: The TMC on Monday moved the Supreme Court challenging the CBI that is investigating the mega Saradha chit fund scam in West Bengal. The party alleged the central agency of working under the direction of the Centre.

A petition has been filed in the apex court against CBI for its methods of investigation in the ponzi scam in which several TMC leaders have been arrested and interrogated.

The party has been alleging the CBI of arresting the TMC leaders in the chit fund case as part of political vendetta by the ruling BJP at the Centre. While three TMC leaders including West Bengal Transport Minister Madan Mitra, TMC MP Srinjoy Bose and Kunal Ghosh are behind the bar so far, several others have been questioned in connection with the case.
