Over 30,000 Candidates appear Exam for 53 Group-D Posts in Cuttack

Cuttack, Jan 19: Odisha would set a record having a large number of job aspirants for few posts. One would wonder to see the crowd at Barabati stadium in Cuttack where over 30,000 applicants appeared the written tests for 53 posts in Group D Category for the office of District Judge.

Since the number of applications was more for the class IV post, the recruitment authorities conducted the examination on the stadium. The applicants from across the state were seen standing in queue from 8 am to enter into the stadium, the exam venue, to appear the exam that began at 11 am. This was a tough task for the entire administration and police due to heavy rush and crowd for the smooth conduct of the exam.

The candidates were asked to listen to the questions to write their answers on their answer sheets in one hour, and the examiners announced the questions through loud speaker. However, the applicants alleged of the irregularities in the conduct of exam, which was held for 53 posts (11-unreserved, 12-SC, 15-ST and 14-SEBC).

Conducting an exam in this manner would surprise the statesmen and the leaders, who have been talking about the unemployment, development and growth of economy. No development is possible in the country till people get employment, and basic requirements of life. Such scene at Barabati reflects the percentage of unemployment in the state.
