Blow to Congress as Manmohan examined by CBI in Coalgate

New Delhi, Jan 20: In a huge blow to Congress, the CBI has examined former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in connection with the coal block allocation scam.

According to media reports, the CBI examined Singh at his residence two days ago on Jan 18. The central agency will file its status report before the Special CBI court by January 27.

His role was examined in connection with the case relating to allocation of Talabira II block to Hindalco. According to allegations, the coal block was allocated illegally to Hindalco when the then PM Singh was holding the portfolio of coal in the ministry.
