After Manmohan, BJP demands Questioning of Naveen in Coal Scam in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Jan 21: A day after the report about former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's questioning in connection with the coal scam came to light, the BJP in Odisha cornered the ruling BJD demanding the interrogation of chief minister Naveen Patnaik in the case relating to the allocation of Talabira II coal block in Sundargarh district to Hindalco, owned by the Aditya Birla group.

Senior BJP leader Suresh Pujari said that the questioning of Naveen Patnaik is required in the illegal allocation of the coal block to the firm if the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was examined by the CBI, as the investigation could not be complete without him in the case.

However, the BJD rubbished the demand saying if Naveen Patnaik will be questioned then all the CMs will have to face the interrogation by the CBI for recommending several companies for coal block allocation in their states.
