Advani, Ramdev, Ravi Shankar, Bachchan likely to get Padma Awards

New Delhi, Jan 23: Veteran BJP leader LK Advani, yoga guru Baba Ramdev, founder of the Art of Living Foundation Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and mega star Amitabh Bachchan are likely to be honored with Padma awards this year. The final list approved by the Prime Minister's Office will be announced on Jan 24.

Advani, who is considered as the Modi's guide in politics, may be awarded the prestigious award for this year. Similarly, Ramdev's name may come on the list for his extensive campaign for the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections last year.

The veteran actors like Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan may be considered for the award for their contribution to Indian cinema. Spiritual leader Sri Ravi Shankar and Indian badminton player PV Sindhu and wrestler Sushil Kumar may be among others to get the award.

The Padma awards will be conferred on the Republic Day.
